DOES YOUR CUBE NEED PIMPING!?

This post brought to you by Contest Factory. All opinions are 100% mine.

Do you dread the thought of going into the office each day because your cube is a sight for sore eyes!? Is it messy, unorganized, dated, damaged furniture or just dirty? Or maybe it's all of those!

If you think you have the worst cube help is on hand with the Pimp My Cube Contest who will transform your working space with a value of up to $1200. This will either include a top of the range computer system, new furniture or entertainment packages such as the best espresso machine, stereo system etc.

All you have to do to be in with a chance of winning is register and upload a contest video to the PMC site showing us just how terrible your cube really is. Make sure it interesting to watch as everything will be judged. No one wants to hear a ten minute sob story. Make us laugh, make us cry - but in a good way!

Get all your friends and family to vote for your video too. The more votes the more popular your video looks and betters your chances of winning if it stands out.

The runner up will receive a $200 that will be selected at random so even if you don't think your cube is the worst compared to other entrants its worth entering anyway. The competition will close on the 31st January, 2012 at 12pm.

Your Best Gaming Moments Movie Style: ROXIO GAME CAPTURE

How does the idea of making your best and even worst gaming moments into an actual movie sound?
With the Roxio Game Capture hardware and software this is made easy for any PC or console game players to put all their highlights together and add text as well as a vast amount of other features to really make their movie come alive.
The way it works is you can play your games in HD (1080i resolution) on your television and at the same time you are recording your gameplay to your PC in 480p (standard definition). And with the game capture outputs to MP4, AVI, DivX AND WMV the file sizes are manageable enough to be able to be shared on popular media sharing sites like You Tube and Facebook.
As well as the recording ability during gameplay you can do still shots that can be saved as JPG,PNG files and more.
If you're like me you probably already have been taking screenshots of your gameplay to keep as a memory. If not you should have a go as now you will be able to share your moments with others in a more interesting way with commentary, music playing in the background, titles and all sorts!
I have had many accomplishments (and fails) - funny ones at that! .. where I have tried to tell my friends all about it. But telling them is one of those you have to be there moments really. So this way they can actually be there can't they!? I probably have enough of the fails to make my own comedy movie!
If you're a PC game player you can also record gaming footage without a seperate hardware capturing device. With the Game Capture system the idea is that its that its so easy to capture, edit and post in one click that you can spend more time playing then trying to organise and manage files. In fact the hardware capture device is in a USB format that's not only small and easy to store but is portable too so you can take it with you to friends and families homes.
You can get Roxio Game Capture on the PC for £39.99 and Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 for £79.99 from well known online gaming stores or retail outlets.
You can also visit the Roxio website direct to find out more.

USEFUL INTERACTIVE ING DIRECT SAVINGS WIDGET

This post brought to you by ING Direct. All opinions are 100% mine.

Technology and the Internet give us the tools to find out all sorts of information these days, and also give us the ability to be able to do things more conveniently too.

Like online banking for instance. I know I would be lost without mine. With a current, bills and savings account I am constantly transferring money from one to the other. However I must admit I need to be transferring more into my Savings Accounts each week.

Its always interesting to know what other peoples savings are like and without asking them directly we can rely on super tech online tools like the ING Direct bank widget to give us our answers.

This interactive widget is for residents based in the UK and will let you know how much people are saving on average per region. You can compare up to six regions and it gives you the motivation and an idea of what you should have in savings yourself.

Are you from a low or high savings region? You'll have to let me know in comments. My area was into the £2k mark but another I found it to be as high as 5k. Its quite fun actually clicking each region and being nosey!

Do you thrive on being able to do something technically impossible, yet you've perhaps found a way in the past to break through these secure walls of trusted information to get what you want?
Can you get passed the problem in minutes rather than weeks, hours, years or maybe not at all with your vast amount of computer know how and analytical mind?
So many questions! But the big one really here is Can You Crack It?. Do you think the have the ability to show just how good you really are to take on the cyber code challenge and beat it?

RETRO VS MODERN COMPUTING

It always amazes me how gaming has changed over the years graphically. I remember the Amstrad and Spectrum days where your character seemed to be walking into an invisible fence half the time and getting stuck with what seemed to be nothing in their way!

But now matter how cool our games are created these days we always seem to have that glimpse of wanting to go back into the past to play the classic games like Air Wolf, Jack the Nipper and my personal favourite Oh Mummy - Loved that game! You know you got the music in your head already haven't you!?

Luckily with the joys of the Internet (what would we do without it?) we can usually get these games and play them online for free. Either that or you can try and get your hands on a Amstrad or Spectrum and start a bit of a retro collection.

Its crazy isn't it how some things are slowly phased out or are being phased out over the years - records and cassettes with Cd's, hi fi systems with iPods, Walkmans with MP3 players. It makes me wonder what things are going to be like in another ten or twenty years time.

But the big question is would we change it? All these new computer systems we have now, gadgets and electronics if we didn't know of their invention we would just be carrying on doing things how we normally did it in the 80's and be content with that.

Now that we have been spoilt with this fantastic technology we are constantly wanting more and inventors are constantly trying their hardest to come up with the next best thing.

As long as things don't turn all robotic and flying cars like a typical future view is seen I would be happy.... By the way yes that is Alan Sugar pictured!
